NYAD Mason Road

NYAD Mason is located in Mason Road P.S. The childcare has partnered with the school in the Kids Health Challenge, which was a program where the community promotes healthy living. Together they built a garden where flowers, herbs and vegetables grow, which is shared with the school and childcare. NYAD Mason is also one of the centres with an in house pet. In 2022 the children and educators welcomed Dorito Chip, an adult bearded dragon.

Meals & Snacks

Meal times are a relaxed and social time for the child and educators. Children are given ample time to eat and conversation is encouraged--no matter the age! We encourage the child to try a variety of foods. Children who do not wish to eat particular foods will be given more of the foods s/he does enjoy. All of our meals are balanced and nutritious and guided by Canada's Food Guide. We provide three snacks throughout the day (one in the morning, one in the afternoon and a small one at 5:30).  NYAD works with families to ensure that individual children's dietary needs are upheld.

An important connection for your child's success is community. It is with this foundation in mind that NYAD offers early learning in school settings, which allows for a seamless transition for your child moving from early learning to the beginning of their formative school journey. Our programming allows your child to realize their full potential by indulging their capabilities and curiosities. We give them a safe space to try new things, explore new ideas and take thought-out risks, all while learning and developing at their own pace. A full day program is offered on PA days, March break, winter break and summer.

NYAD understands the important period your school-age child is entering. We endeavour to help your child develop new skills become more resilient and independent. This is done through providing a high quality program that strives at meeting the needs of the children and their families. Our educators understand that school age children have varied interests and have different learning styles; accordingly, children are able to explore their interests such as art, language, technology, engineering, music and sports, to name a few. A full day program is offered on PA Days, March Break, Winter Break and Summer.
